The brainchild of Detroit drummer and show promoter Bryan Knickerbocker, “The Amalgamation Project II” will once again feature multiple artists from different musical genres collaborating for the first time together as duets & performing those genres meshed together on stage. “I wanted to showcase the bands, musicians, and friends I’ve worked with throughout the Detroit Music Scene, and to try to do something on a local level that would feel like a We are the World or Aerosmith & Run DMC type collaboration,” said Knickerbocker. The duets will consist of members of multiple Michigan based bands including Ritual Suns, Creature of One, Fatal Conceit, Penman, Loa, The Half Of It, Wulfbridge, Into The Void, Elsie Binx, Let It Rot, and more performing songs written especially for this show backed by an all- star band. Asked to give an example of a pairing that general audiences would understand, Knickerbocker elaborated, “So with somebody like Delaney Natke (jazz-pop), and Jonny Neville (hard rock) collaborating on a piece… think Eva Under Fire meets Nora Jones.” Rikki Roxx will also return as the show’s host for 2024, with two new opening bands, Letters From Abel and The T.M. Experience, having been selected for stand alone performances.
