Beyond writing her own words, Allison is passionate about helping others find their words and connect with their muse and gives workshops and presentations on using flash fiction to break through writer’s block, writing through grief and trauma, and using yoga to feel more creative. She is an avid yogi and believes yoga can help anyone unlock their creative potential...so much so, she wrote a book about it called, “Boom, Shaka Chakra: Using Yoga to Become a More Creative You.” She is passionate about combining yoga and creativity and helping those struggling with addiction use yoga as a tool to stay sober. She is also the Director of Content and Marketing for The Artist’s Umbrella, a group of creatives putting on monthly variety shows to shine the spotlight on the amazing talent here in Lansing. If she has any free time, Allison spends her time deepening her yoga practice, watching movies, reading, spending time with her family, or trying to get some sleep in.
